The Union City Fire Department is a combination career/part-time paid department. Our roster consists of 8 career (full-time) personnel, supplemented by 22 part time personnel. We offer Paramedic service to the citizens of Union City Indiana and outlaying areas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. At a minimum, our full time personnel are required to be certified to the Firefighter l/ll and EMT-Advanced levels. To date we employ 6 full time Paramedics and 7 part-time Paramedics.
Within its fleet, the Union City Fire Department offers two 1000 gallon engines, one 3000 gallon tanker, and a 350 gallon brush truck. We also offer three ALS equipped ambulances and 2 support vehicles.
To offer the very best in care to the citizens of Union City, Wayne and Jackson Townships, the members of the Union City Fire Department maintain certification and competency utilizing a rigorous training schedule. We strive to bring each customer high quality care along with the utmost in professionalism.
Currently on staff, the Union City Fire Department has two EMS primary instructors, one Fire Instructor ll/lll, and four Fire Instructor l’s. Utilizing a state of the art training facility, the Union City Fire Department offers a wide range of courses available to the public. Classes available to the public include: CPR, first aid, fire extinguisher training, and fire prevention practices.
